| Sherfield
is fortunate to have two well-equipped Halls, a small meeting room and a garden
which may all be hired for regular and ad hoc functions. The halls are fully
licensed throughout the year, have extensive car parking space and benefit from
a resident caretaker (Jan Martin) who will open the halls for use. She
will also assist the hirer by setting up tables and chairs as per requirements.
The furniture has recently been upgraded with new, padded, foldable chairs and new circular tables suitable for weddings, parties and other events. We will also be happy to put you in touch with companies providing catering
and bar services, discos/band hire, marquees, childrens entertainment,
etc. |

Availability: The Halls are available for hire between
9am and midnight Monday to Saturday (after midnight by arrangement and with a surcharge), occasional Sundays, and are closed on
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Principal Activities and Objectives
The Charity was established in a conveyance and Declaration of Trust dated 7 December 1939 and
was approved and established as a Charity under the Charities Act 1960 on 29 April 1977. The land
with the buildings thereon is vested in the Official Custodian for Charities.
The objectives of the Charity are the provision and maintenance of a Village Hall for the use of the
Inhabitants of the Parish of Sherfield on Loddon for use for meetings, lectures and classes and for
other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the condition of life.
Constitution
The Corporate Trustee of the Village Hall is Sherfield-on-Loddon Parish Council. It meets 4 times a
year to consider Village Hall matters. It appoints a Committee of Management which consists of at
least 5 Parish Councillors who are responsible for the day to day running and management of the
Village Hall and staff. The Management Committee meet once per month.
