SOLAR PANELS

Sherfield-on-Loddon Village Hall has installed Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels. This installation was 100% funded by the RDPE Leader Program and has provided us with an array of 16 PV panels each capable of generating 230 Watts of electricity, giving a potential maximum of 3.68 Kilowatts. The actual amount generated is dependent on the intensity of the light, but there is some generation even under cloudy skies.

The Village Hall receives payment for all power generated and also is able to sell unused power to our electrical supplier.  So in addition to cutting its carbon usage, the money generated will help fund the upkeep of the Village Hall which, as with any old building, is very considerable.

The PV Solar Panels have been supported by the RDPE Leader Program - www.ruralfunding.co.uk

The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) is funded by Defra and the EU.
The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): Europe investing in rural areas.
